Sign Off! Never Fear, MDOT Sign Will Be in the Clear

In Infrastructure and Planning, Open Season, Transportation on April 2, 2013 at 5:50 pm

After Cheryl Gross mentioned the strange placement of the new MDOT road sign seemingly right in front of the entrance to the future Dunes South parking area, trustee Jennifer Wilkins looked into the matter. She learned from Ken Bonney that there will be a large easement between M22 and the parking area, and placement of the Dunes Park signage was meant to be temporary; they actually mark the very edge of the Dune Park property, where it meets the easement. The parking area has yet to be determined, but it will likely be set back several dozen feet from the edge of the state road. Ken Bonney intends to complete work on the parking area sometime this year—funding is already secured through the Conservancy. —Emily Votruba
